Community Involvement

Peck's Mill Pond Public Access Park

In the summer of 1998 the SCF “adopted” the Peck’s Pond Public Access to the Housatonic   River in an effort to help enhance the appearance and improve the general upkeep of the park for town residents.

Using a design by Landscape Architect Steven Wing and directed by then SCF President, Paul Reslink the SCF board worked closely with the Town of Stratford to develop the small rocky area with limited access to the river into a small park with benches overlooking the River.

The SCF is currently working toward building a small dock that would extend from the shore into the river, providing an easy launch for canoes and kayaks.

How to Contribute

As a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the sole source of financial support for the Community Fund is the bequests and contributions of area residents and businesses. The organization does not directly solicit donations, but welcomes the community's generosity as the size of the endowment impacts the scope, quantity and quality of the grants and awards it issues.  LEARN MORE
